This is just fabulous - my gradfather embarked on the HMAT Nestor from Sydney on 9 April 1916 with the 17th Batallion so it sounds like EC Perkins and my grandfather were on the same ship. Such easy access to clear and concise information. His daughter (my mother) is still alive and although she never knew her father very well (he came back from the war with shell shock we think) she will be so happy when I read her this story.
